Utvalget av salsa i norske platebutikker er utrolig dårlig
tatt i betraktning at musikken har blitt ganske populær, og
de mangler det meste av det en finner på salgslistene i USA
og som blir spilt på salsatekene i Europa. I tillegg er
prisene som regel høye (kr 189,-). Du kan finne litt salsa i Platekompaniet
sine butikker.
Det
beste er å benytte anledningen til å handle
når du er på tur til storbyer i Europa eller USA,
evt. be utenlandsfarende venner kjøpe for deg. Husk at hvis
du kjøper MYE i en og samme butikk kan du få rett
til tax free som normalt tilsvarer en prisreduksjon på ca.
20%.
I Stockholm finner du en butikk med
et bra utvalg i salsa. De kan sende på bestilling, men det
blir ganske dyrt. Se El Barrio.
Det
rimeligste alternativet er å benytte Internett. Fra USA kan
du få tilsendt CD-plater i løpet av en uke eller
to, og til lavere pris. NB! Du må betale toll på
all import med verdi over 200 kr. Bestiller du bare en eller to CDer om
gangen slipper du toll, og prisen pr CD vil normalt komme på
kr. 120-130,- alt inkludert.
For deg som skal
kjøpe dine første salsa-CDer så har jeg

is the cheapest
and it has a fairly good choice
(most of the known artists, collections etc.) and a very fast

Catalog has definetely the best choice of
salsa and Afro-Cuban music, videos, books as well as instruments and
T-shirts. Much more than 1000 CDs in the category Son & Salsa.
But a little expensive and very high shipping rates for Europe.
- Museo del disco has a very good
choice of all styles, nice prices and a good service.
- Most Wanted Latin Music - Dutch
site with a good choice.

has an interesting choice of independent artists and is selling both
CDs and downloads.
- PassiOn Music: Very good
collection of old school salsa at nice prices and very fast service. UK
based.

is almost as cheap as CD Universe, but
the choice in latin/salsa is less good.

- Tienda de Música Cubana.
Representing Cuban companies such as Egrem and Bis. Good choice of
musica from Cuba: Timba, Son, Rumba and more. Cheap!
- Timba.com
is specialising in Cuban timba, son
and salsa and some Afro-Cuban jazz but limited choice. However, also
lots of
reviews and news about known timba artists.
- Caravan
Music has a pretty good selection of salsa
and other Afro-Latin music like bolero, samba, bossa nova, flamenco etc.
- Combo
Records is mainly focusing on the legendary
orchestra El Gran Combo but have a decent choice of other artists
aswell.
- Etnomusic
is based in Barcelona, Spain, and has
a very good choice of music from all over the world, including Cuba and
salsa in general. Reasonable prices and low shipping rates! If you go
to Barcelona you should visit the shop which is just of la Rambla.
